52 Ways of Making Money in Stock Market - Part 39/52 - Marking the close or Do closing

Marking the close is where the client or trader place orders at the close of trading day, with an intention to cause the share price to close higher. The client normally have big interest in the company, example he may be a substantial shareholder or director. Some clients may ask remisiers or dealers to do the closing for them.

Some times if the stock close below a certain price, the client Share Margin account will be in margin call, so have to close above the price level.

I think this illegal but it may be difficult to detect. Although in some cases that can be detected, but lack of evidence of prevent the authority from acting on it.
1) There are so many counters
2) Some may be genuine buyer completing the purchase
3) The client may use many different accounts
4) The accounts that the client use may be also actively trading other stocks
5) A lot of efforts and time are needed to catch the client

How to can benefit from this?
From the daily price movement of the stock, you may notice that the particular stock is being marked up at the closing. You can buy before the closing and sell at the closing with one or few bids higher.

Not sure whether this is legal or not. You have to check with your remsier. We are just trading based on public chart analysis and intraday trade. You have no insider information. Based on the chart, the counter also move up in the last minute. Your trading is purely based on chart information, and no fraud involved.

RISKS, LIMITATIONS OR DIFFICULTIES:
Few years ago Bursa has introduced Trading At Last and Pre Closing, so less and less counters are being marked at close.

In order to close the stock price up, one lot of shares (100 shares per lot) may be sufficient. If you que to sell, may end up only 100 shares done which may not be enough to cover your brokerage.
Legality, not sure whether what you are doing is legal

OPINION:
No opinion on this, because not sure this is legal or not. Although we may think this is legal as our trading is purely based on chart analysis, but if authorities say this is illegal, then no pint argue.

Airasia X IPO fixed the final retail and institutional price at RM1.25

If you have applied Airasia X IPO, if not successful they will return all your money. But if successful, they will refund RM0.20 per successful IPO share. The balloting date is on 24/06/2013, and Airasia X IPO tentative listing date is on 10/07/2013.

Airasia X IPO also offer blue form and AirAsia X IPO free ticket. Many have heard of the free tickets. But many not aware of blue form.

How many shares for blue form? 50 million of AirAsia X IPO shares have been allocated for AirAsia X guests who have flown with AirAsia X over the past 24 months prior to 10 June 2013 and who are also a BIG Shot and Malaysia public individuals.

Many are not aware of the blue form and also not familiar on the process on how to apply using the AirAsia X IPO blue form. I think very easy to get if you apply blue form. I heard they need to be a Big Shot loyalty program members first then only can apply. Better check with Airasia X company.

Should we apply Airasia X IPO?

Many people have different opinion whether to apply for Airasia X IPO. I have gathered what I heard or read from the past few weeks. Many have even took time to read the prospectus.

The following is what I have gathered on why we should apply Airasia X IPO:

Although the Airasia X IPO issue price is at RM1.45, it is not fixed yet. The final price may be lower and valuation will then be cheaper.

AAX is quite efficient and has one of the lowest cost base.

The long haul market is growing.

Although the Airasia X PE ratio is not cheap, but many have strong growth forecast on Airsia X.

Strong ancillary income at about RM140 per passage, one of the highest, and may grow further as AAX introduce more and better innovative products to customers.

Stock market sentiment is quite good now.

Although Astro IPO did performed badly, it was just one of the unique case due to expensive valuation. Most of the Big IPO normally open above IPO price and can make quick profit. Especially after Astro IPO case, now people are more careful in valuation the IPO price, therefore probably they may not set high IPO price and at RM1.45 many not be expensive.

Airasia IPO was just RM1 plus, and now is above RM3, means it has provided some track records to investors.

Inter-Pacific Research give Airasia fair value at RM1,66.

Free Airasia X IPO ticket. 10,000 shares – 99,999 shares one ticket to any of AAX’s destinations for 3 years. 100,000 shares or more, get 3 tickets to AAX’s destination for 3 years. Need to continue to hold the shares, terms and conditions apply, please check with Airasia X.

The following is what I heard on why we should not apply Airasia X IPO:

Many said forget it, based on past experience with Maxis, FGV, etc, very difficult to strike on the balloting.

Some research give low Airasia X target price, eg Hong Leong give RM1.20 fair value and TA Securities give RM1.40.

Look at what happen to Astro.

Fuel price is quite stable now, and if jump up sharply, will hurt Airasia X profit.

Airasia X profitability is still not stable, certain quarter still made loss.

Airasia X IPO free ticket have terms and conditions, eg need to continue to hold the shares, etc.

Although the stock market sentiment is quite good now, but the listing date is second week of July, still got long time. Market at that time may not be good, especially now is quite stagnant and sometimes got big drop.

Airasia Stock Code 5238 AAX. Individuals make decision. All the best.

AirAsia X IPO Share Price Target

Airasia X IPO PE Ratio is high. With moderate gearing. Growth? Yes. Airasia X dividend yield is zero because the dividend payout ratio is zero. With Airasia X IPO share price of RM1.45, it is worth to subscribe the IPO?

These are the information that I have garthered.

I heard HL broker gives Airasia X ipo fair value of RM1.20. With Airasia X financial and comparing with other low cost airlines, that is why the fair value is low. But wait, the RM1.45 is not fixed yet, still subject to bookbuilding. The final retail price may be much lower.

Also, I heard some said the Airasia X IPO target price is much higher. Depending comparing with which other low cost airlines and what growth forecast number that we use.

Let me gather more info first.

Another of my STOCK made 100%, SCIENTX 8 months

Bought Scientx stock RM2.5x, and if Scientx reach RM5.18, achieve 100%. Today Scientx share price closed at RM5.30, higher than RM5.18. Also, not to forget the dividend that I have received. Although I have sold of my Scientx share, as mentioned in my earlier post on Scientx, I bought it back.

If you have been reading my blog, you will know how I am able to achieve this, that is through a very simple fundamental investing called PEGGY Method with Dollar Cost Averaging. I will not elaborate more, because most readers are very bored with my strategy. Same old strategy. Anyway, my strategy works well for me.

Past few years, here are the stocks that made at least 100%.

Huayang 400%
Freight 200%
Evergreen 200%
TSH 100%
Genting Singapore 200%

GOB stock, AirAsia X IPO and Sona Petroleum IPO

As mentioned earlier, GOB stock PE Ratio is very low. The reason I’m not keeping is because of the uncertainty in the growth and no dividend. Furthermore, I didn’t know it is Equine (old name) stock. Why after I knew that it is Equine stock, logically I would have keep the stock longer. But this is human emotion. Before this already decided the sell, but after knowing is Equine, can’t change mind.
Anyway, if the growth is what as Kenanga has forecast, RM1.00 is not a problem. If start paying good dividend, the stock will fly higher. But the question is, can it achieve the growth near Kenanga forecast.

I heard many people start applying AirAsia X IPO and searching the internet for target price, maybe the MITI shares have started. There will also be many roadshows. After the Astro below the IPO price, now people are more careful. Will post more when I have more info.
Sona Petroleum Berhad IPO also coming up. Can apply? I think is similar to Hibiscus IPO and CLIQ IPO. Both did not open at good price. But the losses are not that great because you need to add in the free warrant. However, both prices jump up after listed.

Why I made 10.7% from GOB stock today?

This morning as posted in my blog Facebook and my blog that I will trade and contra GOB stock, bought at RM0.70, and closed at RM0.775. Why?

It went down to RM0.695, I thought made wrong decision.

Saw Research report said Trading Buy recommendation. GOB PE Ratio very low and with growth potential. Fundanmental ok. Kenanga initiated the research analysis and said GOB share price target is RM1.23.

I look at the price, went up after election but have stabilised.

The plus point is, Kenanga initiated the reseaech. As I mentioned few times in my blog, we may make money when analyst initiated research because suddenly more and more people know about the BUY recommendation. With such a low PE ratio, probably many may follow and buy. So I also follow.

Furthermore, market sentiment still ok, most people play until no stock to play. So just need some news to play a stock.

Why I play contra when PE ratio low with growth potential and low gearing? Fair value high and recommended buy by analyst. Good stock right?

The company was losing money few years ago. So I was a bit doubt on the growth potential. PE Ratio very low, still can buy. But I didn't see any dividend. If anything goes wrong, after few years I receive nothing.

I have never heard of the company. So I plan to contra. I didn't know Global Oreiental Bhd is new name of previously old name Equine stock.

Not that I say Equine is good, but know about it before, rather than GOB which I have no experience with the name.

If you have been reading my blog, you will.know that I hardly contra. I always invest ling term. But this one because of Initiated Coverage by analyst. Made few times from Initiate Research Report. Eg last year P&O.

If interested in the article, here.

SKPRES, P&O, TGuan stock share price

SKPRES financial result not good. As I mentioned two months ago , I have sold some of my SKPRES stocks. Currently the SKPRES share price is slightly higher than the price that I sold. Not much left, including dividend, probably lose few percents. That is why dividend is important.

Will wait for analyst report before decide what to do with the balance. With PE ratio now not very low, if no convincing growth forecast, will sell all.

This is one of the two stocks that made losses, plus Fitters stock.

P&O stock.
P&O Kenanga said buy with P&O share price target of RM2.10. I can't see any convincing growth, but PE ratio not very high. Continue selling, but keep some.

TGUAN stock.
Result flat. I don't think there will be any research report. Management report said ok. As price has increased, PE Ratio no longer very cheap and dividend yield not very high. Hold, because have very little.

The month of May ended, busy reporting session ended.

With the price increase sharply recently, very hard to find good value stock.

If you find any stocks with low PE ratio and good future growth and high dividend yield, let me know.
